Walker, wild-camper, mountain biker, picture taker, nature lover, Les Paul mangler, Turkish coffee fan. I enjoy quite a lot of things, but none more-so than hill walking.
I’ve been montivagant on and off for nearly 30 years, after first being persuaded to walk up Snowdon by the Llanberis path sometime in the late 1980’s. Clad in jeans and trainers, we never made it to the top that day; strong gales forced us to turn back 100m from the summit or risk being blown over! Needless to say, I’ve been back to Snowdon many times since, in all weathers… and wearing much more appropriate clothing.
In late 2016 I decided to formalise my hill walking experience and enrolled on a Mountain Leader training course. In June 2018 I put myself in for assessment and passed. I’m now happy to share my accrued knowledge through skills sessions and guided walks in the UK’s upland areas.
